Hanover Direct Announces Management Promotions
Jeff Potts named Senior Vice President of D-Commerce New Ventures Hanover Direct, Inc. (AMEX: HNV), today announced the promotion of two key executives within the company and the hiring of another executive to further develop its current business objectives. All appointments are effective immediately. Jeff Potts has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President of D-Commerce New Ventures reporting to Rakesh K. Kaul, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hanover Direct, Inc. In this position, Mr. Potts will be responsible for online incubation enterprises and future D-Commerce initiatives as well as for Always In Style, the online venture in which Hanover has a controlling interest. Mr. Potts will also be responsible for new initiatives within Hanover Brands including Compagnie de la Chine, the Encore catalog, membership programs, and credit marketing. In this capacity, Mr. Potts will report directly to Richard Hoffman, President and Chief Operating Officer of Hanover Brands, Inc. Steven Goldberg joins Hanover Direct, Inc. as President for Upscale Home Fashions, reporting to Richard Hoffmann. Mr. Goldberg will be responsible for overseeing operations for The Company Store, Turiya and Scandia Down, Kitchen & Home, and American Down and Textile Worldwide Anita Iodice has been promoted to the position of President of The Company Store reporting to Steven Goldberg, President for Upscale Home Fashions. In this position, Ms. Iodice will be responsible for the marketing, merchandising, creative, and product development functions of The Company Store Kaul stated, "The addition of Steven Goldberg is one that I am very excited about. He has an impressive track record and solid experience. He will help us to further solidify our position as the leader in upscale home fashions." Kaul added, "The promotion of Anita Iodice to President of The Company Store reflects the work that she has done in creating and defining this brand. She has been instrumental to the growth of The Company Store and in her new position will be able to further develop this important business." Jeff Potts joined The Company Store in 1986 and was promoted to Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Potts continued as CFO following Hanover Direct’s acquisition of the company in 1993 and was promoted to President of The Company Store in 1995. In 1996, Mr. Potts was again promoted to the position of President of Upscale Home Fashions. Steven Goldberg is a seasoned merchant, direct marketer and business leader joining Hanover Direct from Bloomingdale’s where he served as Vice President of Merchandising for Home Store Furniture, Interior Design and Product Development. Mr. Goldberg has a distinguished career including his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Zona, Inc, and as Vice President and General Merchandise Manager for Merchandise Services with American Express. Anita Iodice joined The Company Store in 1994. She was names Director of Merchandising in 1995 and promoted to Vice President and GMM of The Company Store in 1996. Prior to her joining The Company Store, Ms. Iodice held positions at Land’s End, Eddie Bauer, and Fredrick and Nelson.
